The Women in Construction Committee (WICC) made quite the impact on its community just four months after being formed. WICC is a group of women dedicated to bettering their community and increasing the amount of women in all kinds of construction careers.
Thanks to the generous donations from our ABC SEMI members and various sponsors, WICC was able to set aside over $4,500 for a specific woman-only scholarship fund after its first annual Oktoberfest fundraiser. WICC will be granting 1 scholarship (full 1st semester’s tuition) to a woman already enrolled at SEMCA (level 2, 3 or 4 student) and 1 scholarship to a new student at SEMCA (full 1st semester’s tuition).

The scholarship cutoff date is July 1 and the recipients will be announced on August 1. To be considered, applicants must submit a one-page essay answering the following question:
What do the construction trades mean to you?
