The Associated Builders and Contractors of Southeastern Michigan (ABC SEMI) are proud to announce the election of Mark Angellotti, President of Expert Heating & Cooling, to the 2021 ABC SEMI Board of Directors.
“Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our board,” said ABC SEMI President and CEO Keith Ledbetter. “He is an expert in heating and cooling industry and his company has been recognized as one of the best in the business. They have been a member since 2010 and he is true merit shop. Expert, a family owned and operated company, has been a stellar contributor to the community and strong advocate for increasing opportunities in the trades.”
Expert Heating & Cooling was founded in 1975 with Mark purchasing the company in 1998. Since opening the business, he has expanded to serve a wider variety of HVAC needs across the Metro Detroit area. The company now has over 70 employees providing emergency troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment installations, as well as design build and plan services. Active with local chambers of commerce and serving on numerous local boards has not only made Angellotti a household name in the downriver area, but also incredibly busy too.
“I have been interested in joining the ABC Board for some time,” admits Angellotti. “Like many though, my job has kept me too busy to take on any new challenges. I never want to commit to something I cannot give my all to and with me stepping down from a couple of local boards I feel the time is right to get more involved.”
Angellotti credits his daughter, Alyssa Angellotti, Marketing and Sales Manager for Expert for piquing his curiosity in the association. Alyssa has been active with ABC since 2017 and is a founding member of the association’s Emerging Professionals committee. A committee that focuses on improving the professional skills of young up and coming leaders in the trade industry.
“I truly enjoy working with my daughter—her interest and perspective in the industry is refreshing and frankly the future for us,” said Angellotti. “Our business is very competitive in nature and we live and die by the quality of our work, but to have someone on our team who can promote and garner exposure for us is a win-win. She has loved the contacts and knowledge she has gained through her time here at ABC and I am happy to finally be a more active part of this organization.”
Ledbetter credits ABC SEMI Board with serving as role models utilizing share best practices and offer peer mentoring to help cultivate excellence across the trade industry.
“Our board is made up of some of the most experienced and knowledgeable individuals in the trade industry,” said Ledbetter. “Mark fits right into that mold—he has a passion to promote the industry and is committed to giving back to his fellow contractors. He has a passion to promote a career in the trades and values our merit shop philosophy—we are thrilled to have him on our board.”
