The 2019 MVP of EP Recipient

This year at the 2nd Annual Excellence in Construction awards, a new award was introduced; the MVP of EP award. This award was to be given to a deserving member of the Emerging Professionals (EP) program, who not only embodied the merit shop philosophy themselves, but worked to promote that very same philosophy in others.

This year’s recipient was none other than Steven Sattler, Project Manager for Robert Clancy Contracting, Inc. Nearly a year ago, Sattler was appointed Chairman of the EP Board. Since his appointment, Steven has worked to restructure and grow the EP program to what it is today. As a West Point graduate, Sattler’s tireless efforts, military mindset, and don’t sugar coat it mentality has made him a valuable asset while on the jobsite, at the office and on the Board.

“One day I will make a meaningful impact on someone’s life that will have a trickle-down effect.”

EP is structured as an educational and goal oriented program; its membership is comprised of the most hard working individuals to just enter in the construction industry. Sattler wishes to be a self-made American living the American dream. He sees EP as a pool of knowledge to pull from as he works towards his goals.

“One day I will make a meaningful impact on someone’s life that will have a trickle-down effect,” said Sattler.

With all of his recent successes, Steven is sure to take the time to thank his father and two older brothers for teaching him that a man must fully commit to his responsibilities and above all else to God, family, and loyalty.

“I have so many role models to look up to just within my immediate family,” said Sattler.
