Mike Butcher, Principal, Stark Enterprises

Mike Butcher is the Principal for Stark Enterprises, an umbrella company that provides the overarching framework for a variety of construction services. Mike began his career in construction by owning the residential construction firm, Cross Renovations. Through his experiences he realized that he could provide business development expertise to other construction companies and formed Stark Enterprises. The organization is composed of five construction divisions: painting, carpentry, plumbing, commercial floor covering, and its original pillar, Cross Renovations.

Bridget Kewin, Chief Financial Officer, O’Donnell Electric

Family owned and operated for over 40 years, O’Donnell Electric is a full-service electrical company based in Whitmore Lake, MI with over $14 million in revenue. In 2015, Bridget (O’Donnell) Kewin joined the O’Donnell Electric team, as Chief Financial Officer. Bridget has a masters in finance from Walsh College and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Grand Valley State University. Bridget has 16+ years of experience in commercial and construction finance, underwriting over 145 commercial real estate loans totaling over $300 million. In 2015, it was time for Bridget to relocate back to Michigan from Chicago and work in the family business where multiple hats are worn from Finance to Human Resources.

Debbie Starke, President, La Femina Trucking

Debbie Starke is the owner of the aggregate hauling company La Femina Trucking. Debbie’s career began working for her family business in road construction which inspired her to create her own business. La Femina trucking began in 1990 with only one truck. Today, the company runs 8–14 trucks daily and contracts for road, commercial, asphalt plants, and home builders. In 2014, La Femina Trucking became certified as a MDOT DBE trucking company.

Eric Flessland, Shareholder Attorney, Butzel Long

Eric J. Flessland is a shareholder practicing in Butzel Long’s Detroit office. He received his B.A. with honors from Michigan State University in 1980, and his J.D. (cum laude, 1983) from Wayne State University Law School. Eric’s practice focuses primarily upon representing heavy construction contractors and their trade associations in the public and private sectors. He has extensive experience representing construction contractor clients on public and private works projects literally from inception through close out. Eric’s extensive experience extends to insurance and suretyship issues affecting the construction industry and has drafted a wide range of contract agreements for project owners, contractors, and subcontractors.
